ONE TOUCH ARENA – RAISING THE STANDARD FOR FUTSAL

When One Touch Arena to opened in Broadmeadows, Victoria, the vision was to create more than another indoor sports venue. Founder and owner Murat Yavuzel wanted to elevate the standard of futsal and give Melbourne’s northern suburbs a premium destination closer to home.

“We honestly just wanted to raise the standard,” Murat explains. “We just feel like, as a community who loves futsal, we can do better and we deserve better.”

From the outset, the playing surface was central to that ambition. Murat and his team explored and tested a range of flooring options before Steve Rayment, Director of Pro Court Surfacing & Construction, introduced them to Laykold GymSports. After experiencing the surface firsthand, the team knew they had found the right solution.

For Steve and the Pro Court team, who have been installing the GymSports indoor court system for more than 15 years, it offered the right combination of performance, durability and player comfort for futsal.

“We didn’t want to tear up the ball. We wanted to give the player comfort. We wanted a lot of cushion. And GymSports was the best floor for that.”

Pro Court constructed the surface on site using the Laykold GymSports 5+2 system, comprising a 5mm shock-absorbing mat topped with 2mm of rubber polyurethane. Australian-made in Melbourne and backed by a 10-year warranty, the system was installed over a carefully prepared concrete substrate.

The experience at One Touch Arena extends beyond the playing surface. Designed as a community hub where players and supporters can stay and socialise, the venue also features a café, indoor and outdoor seating, big-screen TVs, mobile food offerings and an on-site osteopath. With capacity for up to 28 teams on a social league night, One Touch Arena is building a strong futsal community in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

The response to the courts has been emphatically positive. Players have praised the cushioning underfoot, strong grip and ball response, while regular players are also noticing the benefits of the surface after spending more time on court.

“Some people play 2–3 games a night. They say to me, ‘How am I coming back three times a week and not feeling sore? I’ve never felt like this,’” Murat explains.

It’s this feedback that reinforces exactly what One Touch Arena set out to achieve – a premium futsal experience combining performance, player comfort and a welcoming social atmosphere that extends beyond the court.
