Sustainability in Action
Laykold introduces recycled tennis ball mats! Over 325 Million tennis balls are produced worldwide each year, and being used for only a few minutes in professional matches to several games for recreational players.
All of these tennis balls eventually land up in land fills. APT are working to reverse this problem! The industry is banding together to take those tennis balls and recycle them by turning them into new Laykold court surfaces!
Finally, a cradle to grave solution for the millions of tennis balls produced annually. Just another initiative by APT – Advanced Polymer Technology.

Our technical and sales staff will be available at all times to advise on the care and maintenance of the surface or any questions you may have regarding our Laykold product warranties should any need arise.
Laykold surfaces normally require only minimal maintenance. However, the amount of maintenance required will depend largely on the local atmospheric environment and court usage. Environments subject to heavy airborne pollution, such as dust, leaves, and traffic fumes, are classified as high maintenance areas. Low maintenance areas enjoy low levels of pollution and dust, such as indoor, and are classified accordingly. Contaminants and debris should be removed promptly. For specific cleaning and maintenance instructions please contact our friendly staff.
No. Cracks can be filled, but damaged substrates are not “fixed” by resurfacing. Cracks will reappear over time. For more information, please see Cracking Of Asphalt Tennis Courts
You must wait a minimum of 24 hours after the court lines have dried; 48 hours is recommended.
It is important to understand court surfaces are applied differently than other types of “paints”. Natural variations in the finish are to be expected. For more information, please see Observations On Newly Coated Tennis Courts
Scuff marks are unavoidable. They will become less noticeable with time. Shoes with non- marking soles are recommended, black soles should be avoided. For more information, please see Athletic Shoe Marks

ITF Pace Rating - What is ITF Pace Rating?
The ITF Court Pace Classification Programme has been developed to assist purchasers of tennis surface products to determine the type and speed of surface most suited to their requirements. The ITF classifies surfaces into one of five categories according to its Court Pace Rating. A surface product included on the list of ITF Classified Surfaces is classified purely on the basis of its Court Pace Rating. ITF Classification does not imply any form of ITF approval or endorsement. Any manufacturer, contractor or facility owner may apply for classification and inclusion on the ITF list. The ITF reserves the right to refuse an application for classification of a surface that it deems is not suitable for the game of tennis, whether in relation to its test values or any other reason.
